What surprised you most about Wheeling?

Hi all, Household incomes average around $48,498 in Wheeling. Poverty rate is 13.7%, which is around average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What would you do? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The cost of living scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..
