Honest thoughts on life in White Bear Lake

I work in logistics and Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $318,000, which seems about average. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Hope this helps!.
