Hi all, I'm a teacher here and Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $79,712, which feels about average for the area. It's a a small town city with about 24,026 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Thoughts? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The nightlife is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely solid and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Westside) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
