Thinking about relocating to White House from Phoenix

Not sure if this has been asked before, but My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a small town city with about 13,875 people. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 13,875, White House is a small town. Median household income is $87,315, which feels pretty solid for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in North for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The public transit scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely tough and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Westside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the West side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

I've lived in Eastside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The public transit scene is solid

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

Came here for weather and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The school system is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in retail. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
