I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Dallas about 14 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
