Starting a business in White Oak?

We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -White Oak sits at 204.5 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I overthinking this? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 5 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
