Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 14 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Atlanta it's pretty good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 12 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Denver about 8 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is improving.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..
