I work in retail and Poverty rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 7,520 people. Median household income is $64,838, which feels about average for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for school and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The healthcare is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
