Considering White Plains vs Seattle -help me decide

Been meaning to ask this. I've been here for 7 years and Homes are going for about $624,100 on average. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $624,100, which is pretty steep. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I overthinking this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely underrated and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Riverside) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
