What I wish I knew before living in Whitefield

OK so I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 1,438, Whitefield is a small town. Homes are going for about $165,000 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 14 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
