What Whitehall does better than anywhere else

Anyone else feel this way? We have two kids and Rent is about $991/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $100,600 on average. The median home value here is around $100,600, which is actually reasonable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Lots of new development
- Walkable downtown
- Active local events

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Chain restaurants dominate
The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Moved here from San Diego about 7 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to traffic but Would recommend to anyone considering it..
