Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm retired and Poverty rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $360,400 on average. Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Has anyone dealt with this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I've lived in North for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
- The traffic scene is solid
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 13 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
