Whiteville is underrated, change my mind

Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $718/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What would you do? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Moved here from Dallas about 3 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to safety but Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Atlanta about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Happy to answer more specific questions..
