Is Whitewater good for remote workers?

Been meaning to ask this. It's a a small town city with about 15,705 people. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $211,800, which is actually reasonable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (West) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
