Bought a house here in 2016 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I'm a accountant and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

Moved here from Nashville about 15 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to cost of living but No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Springfield for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- The job market scene is solid
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Chicago about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I work in education here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is underrated. Hope this helps!.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The walkability is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The nightlife scene is improving
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
