Average temperature is around 70--F, so it's warm year-round. The median home value here is around $299,700, which seems about average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 1 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The cultural scene is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Denver about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been here 11 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
