Pros and cons of Whitney after 2 years

Alright, Median household income is $63,480, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,477/month for a decent place. With a population of 46,268, Whitney is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $299,700, which seems about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Whitney sits at 164.9 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Easy commute
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
- Homelessness issues downtown
Does this match your experience? Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much developing but now it's underrated.
