Best hidden gems in Whittier

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 5.6%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Anyone in a similar situation? The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
