Hey, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $1,829 for rent here. Rent is about $1,829/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Should I be concerned? Cheers. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a software engineer, 40, moved here 5 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Pine Hills and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The pet-friendliness situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for families. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $80K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The cultural scene is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Asian.
No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.
