Should I move to Whittier or stay in Denver?

Random thought, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $751,700, which is pretty steep. It's a a smaller city city with about 85,925 people. Household incomes average around $92,374 in Whittier. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Has anyone dealt with this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 2 years. Moved from Phoenix for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is solid - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Homeless population growing downtown. Bugs and humidity in summer. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.
