Job market in Wichita Falls — what industries are hiring?

I'm in tech and considering a move to Wichita Falls, TX. How's the job market there? The unemployment rate shows 2.0% which seems pretty good. But what does it actually look like on the ground?

Is it easy to network and find opportunities?

Coming from Philadelphia, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Old Town. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Check out the Pine Grove area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 7 years and my experience is very similar.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Old Town and Highland Park are perfectly safe.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 7/10.

I work in healthcare and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 5 months.

If you can afford it, Midtown is the best place to live. Period.
