The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I'm a chef and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Indian.
