Anyone else love living in Wichita?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $63,072, which feels about average for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. What are your go-to spots? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely better than expected and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (West) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I work in finance here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is improving. No regrets on my end..
