Remote worker thinking about Wickenburg

First post here. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $65,253, which feels about average for the area. It's a a small town city with about 7,468 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Appreciate any input.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in construction. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Downtown area are tough. Kids love it here.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Highland area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from San Francisco about 9 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is pretty good in most areas.
