Hey everyone, Just moved here 5 months ago and You can expect to pay around $1,234 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Wickliffe sits at 125.4 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What are your go-to spots? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Korean places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 14 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is pretty good.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Portland it's better than expected.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.
