Wildomar is underrated, change my mind

Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $1,910/month for a decent place. With a population of 36,953, Wildomar is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 36,953 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Let me know your thoughts. Any help is appreciated. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 8 years. Moved from Miami for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is tough - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Not very walkable outside downtown. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Bought a house here in 2016 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 51, moved here 6 years ago from LA. I've lived in Downtown and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The community vibe situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for couples. average vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $60K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much manageable but now it's pretty good.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
