What to expect moving to Wildwood?

Hey folks, I work in legal and Crime rate is something to consider -Wildwood sits at 108.9 per 100K. Poverty rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 35,168 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Oak Park. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Definitely worth checking out..
