Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from San Diego about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much competitive but now it's excellent.

I've lived in West for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- The housing market scene is tough

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
