Worst things about Williamsburg nobody talks about

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a teacher here and You can expect to pay around $1,361 for rent here. Household incomes average around $70,206 in Williamsburg. It's a a small town city with about 15,564 people. Homes are going for about $393,200 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Williamsburg sits at 147.0 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Pros:

- Close to nature
- Good internet infrastructure
- Plenty of shopping options
- Active local events

- Traffic can be terrible
- Lack of diversity

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Oak Park for 2 years. Moved from San Francisco for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Oak Park schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Dating scene is rough. Limited entertainment options. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
