Best hidden gems in Williamston

Hi all, We're a young couple and Median household income is $40,556, which feels on the lower side for the area. Rent is about $621/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $40,556 in Williamston. Homes are going for about $108,900 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. TIA! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 56, moved here 8 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in Greenfield and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The traffic situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for retirees. solid vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $90K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
