So, I'm a college student here and Crime rate is something to consider -Williamstown sits at 304.9 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,262 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Let me know your thoughts. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in retail. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Houston about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is solid.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
