What I wish I knew before living in Williamstown

Hey everyone, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Williamstown sits at 304.9 per 100K. Rent is about $1,262/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $255,000 on average. The median home value here is around $255,000, which seems about average. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Diverse community
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Limited nightlife
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Limited cultural events
The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..
