Curious what people think. My partner and I are It's a a small town city with about 17,774 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I wrong here? The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a writer, 32, moved here 7 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in The Heights and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Strong job market in several industries
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The public transit situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for singles. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $50K-$90K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from New York about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Tampa it's surprisingly good.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The weather is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..
