Willimantic quality of life -am I missing something?

OK so I work in tech and Median household income is $41,972, which feels on the lower side for the area. The median home value here is around $180,600, which is actually reasonable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Came here for school and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The job market is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
