Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I work in finance here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is better than expected. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
