Should I move to Williston or stay in Kansas City?

Curious what people think. I'm single, late 30s, and You can expect to pay around $1,106 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 27,964 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Anyone in a similar situation? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. I've lived in Greenfield for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
- The traffic scene is average

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
