Longtime lurker here, Household incomes average around $63,368 in Willmar. Poverty rate is 10.9%, which is around average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I overthinking this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.
