Freelancing from Willow Street -experience?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I work in legal and Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $298,200, which seems about average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I overthinking this? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Houston about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is tough.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.
