Is it worth buying in Willowbrook?

Hey folks, Military spouse here. With a population of 21,642, Willowbrook is a small town. Household incomes average around $60,386 in Willowbrook. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The cultural scene is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Westside for 2 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited shopping options. Far from beaches/mountains. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 8/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
