Life in Wilmington as a young professional

Military spouse here. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 9 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
