Thinking about relocating to Wilmington from Denver
We have two kids and Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Does this match your experience? Thanks for reading. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 1 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Fairview for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cultural scene scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..
