First post here. Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,311 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Any advice would be great. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in legal. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The nightlife is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
