Job market in Wilmington — what industries are hiring?

I'm in tech and considering a move to Wilmington, NC. How's the job market there? The unemployment rate shows 3.0% which seems pretty good. But what does it actually look like on the ground?

Is it easy to network and find opportunities?

Check out the Lakewood area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

I've lived in Pine Grove for 8 years and it's a hidden gem honestly.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Pine Grove and Pine Grove are perfectly safe.

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Eastside and Southside are perfectly safe.

If you can afford it, Old Town is the best place to live. Period.

Don't sleep on Old Town. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.
