Anyone work in healthcare in Wilmington?

Longtime lurker here, My partner and I are Homes are going for about $162,700 on average. Rent is about $925/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Should I be concerned? TIA! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in The Heights area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 30, moved here 8 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Highland and Sunset, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Close to major attractions
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Can feel isolated
3. The cultural scene situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for couples. improving vibes, walkable.
- Sunset: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The cost of living is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great BBQ places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Used to live on the Eastside side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The cost of living is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
