Things Wilson needs to improve

First post here. Rent is about $925/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Anyone in a similar situation? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Lakewood area are decent. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Seattle about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
