What I wish I knew before living in Wilson

What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I work in consulting here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is better than expected. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from LA about 11 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is average.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a social worker and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to New York it's challenging.

I've lived in Riverside for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The public transit scene is tough

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
