Wilson quality of life -am I missing something?

Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 4.3%, which is about average. Homes are going for about $192,000 on average. Median household income is $47,294, which feels on the lower side for the area. Poverty rate is 19.2%, which is higher than I expected. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Any advice would be great. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The nightlife scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..
