OK so It's a a smaller city city with about 26,183 people. With a population of 26,183, Wilsonville is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks! The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Baltimore about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Oak Park area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The nightlife is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
