Career opportunities in Winchester, KY

So, We're a young couple and With a population of 19,133, Winchester is a small town. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in finance. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much developing but now it's excellent.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is excellent in most areas.
