Is Winchester good for remote workers?
Not sure if this has been asked before, but Crime rate is something to consider -Winchester sits at 283.7 per 100K. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a smaller city city with about 27,981 people. Poverty rate is 12.3%, which is around average. Rent is about $1,298/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
